Centrefire Precision
Rifle Matches

At PRNSW, we take pride in having some of the most seasoned PRS shooters, range officers, and match directors in Australia. Their experience translates into innovative, challenging, and enjoyable courses of fire that will put your skills to the test.

As one of the only clubs in the Sydney region, and even Australia, with direct access to an 800m range, we provide a unique and exciting shooting experience.

Our centrefire matches offer the flexibility to shoot with any rifle in your collection, as long as you have at least one 10-round magazine and an optic with adjustable turrets. This allows shooters of all levels to join and compete in our matches.

Rimfire Precision
Rifle Matches

The latest craze to hit the competitive Precision Rifle scene, rimfire brings all the excitement and challenges of a centrefire match, without the hefty ammo cost.

With the rising costs and availability of centrefire components, rimfire allows anyone to get into the sport without the worry of reloading.

Precision Rifle .22 matches are designed to be fast, fun, and easy for everyone to get involved in. Courses of fire are generally shot within 200m and require a .22 rifle capable of accepting a 10-round magazine and optic with adjustable turrets.

Scoring and Classifications

Discover the premier Precision Rifle matches at PRNSW, held at the Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex (SHRSC) in Hilltop, NSW. Our world-class facility is easily accessible from Sydney (just over an hour away) and Canberra (2 hours away).

We believe in fair competition, and our grading system accurately reflects how members fare against their peers. Our system classifies members based on the percentage of their score compared to the match winner, allowing for a balanced and level playing field. Compete with confidence against those of your skill level or challenge yourself against more experienced shooters at PRNSW.

Members will be classified based on the percentage of their score, compared to the winner of each match. Members can achieve a classification of either Pro, Semi-Pro or Marksman.

Each class consists of a percentage of the total number of qualifying members, based on the end of season standings not including the finale.

Pro - First 20%

Semi-Pro - Next 25%

Marksman - Remaining 55%

At PRNSW, match scores are accumulated throughout the year, with the best 2 scores contributing to the final points tally. If your combined total meets certain criteria, you may advance to a higher class, however, you will never be relegated. Newcomers to the sport start off in the marksman class once they log two scores and can progress as they become graded.
