What is the Precision Rifle Discipline?
A dynamic discipline, precision rifle focuses on real-world situations that a shooter may encounter in the field. Through the use of obstacles, positional shooting, and movement between shots, all while staying within the time constraints of the stage, it aims to challenge competitors. It challenges the shooter's ability to adapt to various situations and solve problems quickly in addition to testing their marksmanship.
A course of fire, which consists of a number of stages that will be created by a designated Match Director will be individually shot by a competitor. Every match is different, so shooters must develop a variety of shooting techniques.
Both centerfire and rimfire club-level competitions are provided by Precision Rifle NSW. The rules of our discipline closely resemble those of the national standard for Precision Rifle competition, the Precision Rifle Series Australia.
Precision Rifle NSW is proud to be an affiliated club of PRS Australia, capable of hosting 2-day national-level matches. If you have ever attended a national-level Precision Rifle Series Australia match, you can expect to find the same level of matches here at Precision Rifle NSW upholding the national standard.
